Safety Pharmacology

Apart from conducting core regulatory and non-Regulatory toxicity studies, we offer certain safety pharmacology studies such as hERG assay for screening of compounds of cardiotoxicity and rodent FOB studies (Modified Irwin’s test) for neurobehavioral effects.

hERG assay is conducted using semi-automated patch clamp by testing one concentration for an initial screening or testing 3 concentrations for determination of IC50.

Safety Pharmacology

Rodent FOB studies are conducted as per a standard battery of parameters comprising of observation of animals made in home cage, handheld and in a standard arena, assessment of various reflexes, grip strength (forelimb and hind limb), landing foot splay and measurement of animal activity using validated animal activity meter.

We have a dedicated FOB room in our AAALAC accredited vivarium supporting standalone single dose studies or tests performed as a part of repeat dose toxicity studies.

Our team of scientists involved in performing the experiments are well trained and experienced in conducting FOB studies under GLP compliance.
